Why Scotland has no separate published price
The official UK series is a single national observation. It is priced on the Monday nearest the fifteenth of the month, for deliveries up to 1,000 litres, with VAT at 5% included. There is no regional breakdown behind it, and nobody else publishes one for Great Britain either.
Sites that show you a regional price for a GB region are showing you either a national figure with a regional label on it, or a set of quotes collected from sellers. This page does the first of those and says so, which is the only honest version of it.
The local geography, and what it does to a delivery
Mainland rural, Highland, and island. Island deliveries involve a ferry leg, which is a fixed cost applied to a finite load, so the per-litre effect falls as the load rises.
Delivery
Island and remote Highland addresses are the one place in the UK where a household can reasonably expect its price to sit clearly above the national reading, and where a syndicate that fills a whole boat load changes the arithmetic materially.
