New Hampshire is a heavily oil-heated state with no public dealer register. The state runs a price survey but there is no equivalent of the Connecticut credential lookup, so due diligence here is a phone call rather than a database query.

Where this sits
Of the twenty one states with a published print for this week, New Hampshire ranks 14. The cheapest is Nebraska at $3.97 and the dearest is Delaware at $5.91, a spread of $1.94 a gallon. On a 261 gallon fill that national spread is worth $506.60.

The market here
Independents dominate, many selling propane and oil off the same account. The Seacoast and the Merrimack Valley are the competitive parts; the North Country is not.
Fuel rules
No statewide blend mandate.
Ordering
Applications for fuel assistance run through the Community Action agencies rather than a single state office. Start there, not at the state website, if that is the route you need.

The state survey and the federal print
New Hampshire points at the New Hampshire Department of Energy fuel price survey. Where a state runs its own dealer survey it usually samples more dealers than the federal collection does in that state, so the two figures will not match exactly and neither is wrong. Use the state survey to sanity check a quote in the week you order, and the federal series to compare across states.
Assistance
Help here runs through New Hampshire Fuel Assistance Program. Applications go to the state, never to the federal office, and for a delivered fuel the benefit is normally paid to a participating dealer against a delivery rather than to the household.
